Something interesting that I’ve noticed since I started an Agile transformation is that constructing a base is fundamental when you want to improve your team, local or remote.

The base for any high performance or agile team needs to contains the values and principles that a team will follow.

If you want it to work in an organizational level, team values and principles need to be aligned to the company ones.

And then, there is a common question that rises when we talk about this: what if someone from the team doesn’t agree with our values?

Values need to be internalized, they define people behaviors, that can only be changed if they can understand it.

We can’t obligate or dictate things, the team needs to endorse the values defined are good to them so, keep your values:

  • Simple;
  • Concrete and;
  • Personal.
