Last week was full of great learning experiences, first I had the opportunity to help in a Design Thinking Workshop lead by Rodrigo Giaffredo and then, on Friday, I participated in the IBM Regional Technical Exchange.
In the Design Thinking Workshop, I had the chance to see IBM Design Thinking in action, with Hills (ibm.com/design) and in the RTE I saw some great presentations about innovation and the Cognitive Era.
Our first speaker Wilson Cruz had some inspirational words from his career experience, and I agree when he said that we learnt more in the last year, then in the last ten or more years.
Technology is developing fast and for those who thought that we were in the limit of evolution, it seems we are only beginning. Some words to prove it: Cloud, Watson, Bluemix and Internet of Things.
There is a great space for innovation in these areas and as things move fast, learning and development needs to follow. Therefore, this new era is all about system thinkers and experimental learning.
As performance management in companies shift from saying what employees have to do to coaching them, the need for people interested in differentiate increases.
For those interested in start I suggest to take a look in micro degrees and open badges, they are a new way to faster knowledge improvement.
